There are various play modes in Pokkén Tournament DX. Online battles with players from all over the world, a story to progress through in the Ferrum League, practicing as much as you like in Practice, and customizing your avatar in My Town—there are so many features to enjoy!
In online battles, you can enjoy two kinds of battles—Rank Matches and Friendly Matches.
In Rank Matches, you can compete for the best ranking. The ranking will depend on the rank points you receive according to the outcome of your battle and how many wins you have.
In Friendly Matches, aside from being able to easily battle anyone, you can also battle with people who’ve entered the same VS Code as you.
Single Player Modes
Choose three Pokémon and create a team to battle against your opponent's team in a knockout competition! Each round, both players choose a Pokémon to battle with. At the end of the round, the HP and Synergy gauge of the winning Pokémon carries over. The team that knocks out all three of his or her opponent's Pokémon first will be victorious!
Battle with designated Pokémon in fun Daily Challenges! Complete a Daily Challenge to earn Skill points.
The battles will either be Basic or Team Battles. When you complete a Basic Battles Daily Challenge, the Pokémon you battled with and one other random Pokémon will earn Skill Points. After a Team Battle Daily Challenge, all three of the Pokémon on your team as well as one random Pokémon will earn Skill Points.
Ferrum League has been updated for even more single-player fun. A new mission panel board lets you take on challenges in the order of your choice. Take on tough CPU-controlled trainers and their Pokémon in your quest to reach the top!
Hone your skills in the highly customizable Practice Mode. Learn new techniques, spar against particular Pokémon, and much more.
In Pokkén Tournament DX, you can adjust the appearance of your player character, known as a battle trainer. Besides being able to choose your gender, skin color, face, accessories, and more, you can use in-game currency, Poké Gold (PG), to acquire new items.
